Ok, so it’s been awhile since our last update… that’s simply because life with a newborn can be rather busy at times, as I’m sure many of you know. So, here are a few updates…
We went to the Dr. on Monday for another weight check. Abionah now weights 5 lbs 3 oz. Our prayer is that she will be back to her birth weight (5.7) by this upcoming Monday. She is doing well, it is just taking her a little longer than "normal" to get back to her birth weight. Her pediatrician is not concerned however, and said it is due to the fact that she was fighting jaundice for the better part of two weeks (which made her really sleepy and thus made her not want to eat) along with the simple fact that she is premature.
In preparing for Abi's weight check I had to change her into a dry diaper. While doing this our little girl managed to shoot poop about 4 feet across the examination room; it was quite amusing! The nurse and I both had a good laugh. Later that same day, while changing her diaper, she somehow managed to pee all over her tummy, chest and FACE! I felt bad for her, but couldn't help but laugh! I must admit, I would have expected such a thing with a little boy, but our little girl seems to have similar potty issues....
Here are some recent pictures... she is still small and sleeps almost all the time.
Jon decided to try on one of Abi's hooded bath towels... I think it will be a little while before she fits into this one... Though it certainly makes a wonderfully awesome hooded-cape for her father in the meantime!
We started planting our garden over the weekend! Though most of the seeds cannot be planted until after the last frost a few of them call for being planted prior. Abi helped us plant the garden... it's hard to see her, but she is strapped to me in her moby wrap. If you look closely you can see her little hat sticking out near my face.

Elisabeth Davis gave us this wonderful children’s Bible; it came Dr. Layman recommended! We have absolutely loved reading this with Abi! No, it doesn’t beat reading the real thing, but it is certainly the best children’s Bible I have ever seen (and I have actually seen quite a few of them). I have no idea where to get it, but we would certainly recommend it! It is incredibly unique as it ties ever single story back to Christ. After all, isn’t that what every story is about anyway.

Love the pictures - she is so tiny, but so precious. She looks like she loves the Moby! :)
ReplyDeleteI've heard greatthings about that children's Bible also. You can buy it on Amazon! I think it's about $10 or so.
Jon, the picture of you is awesome. So glad Abi is doing well and gaining weight!
ReplyDeleteOh, Heather, she's just a precious little doll! She has so much hair! Now who does she get that from - Mommy or Daddy?
