So it’s been forever since our last update, sorry about that. It’s funny how life seems to suddenly become much busier when a little one arrives, not to mention incredibly unpredictable. I figured I should at least complete one post before our trip to Delaware this weekend. Abi will experience her first road trip as we head up for a visit over Jon’s spring break to meet family and friends!
It seems like Abionah is already growing and developing so quickly! Here are a few updates on her actions and development:
- Abi is constantly trying to put her fingers in her mouth to suck on them. She still does not have full control of her arms and hands though so this makes the endeavor a little tricky. She has successfully found her fist and random fingers multiple times but can never seem to keep them in her mouth for very long. She has found her thumb two times that we know of. Looks like we might have a little thumb sucker on hands!
- Grabbing! Abi grabs on to anything she can get her hands on
- Abi is becoming much more awake and alert during the day with a desire to interact with those around her.
- Likes “sitting” up. Though she is far from being able to sit on her own Abi enjoys it when we hold her in a sitting position or put her in the bumbo seat.
- Abi is now holding up her head pretty well on her own. She cannot do it consistently yet but does a great job when she is alert.
- Loves stretching! Any time she wakes up she takes a few moments to complete some nice BIG stretches.
- Startles / reacts to various sounds
- Abi now weights 7 pound and is a little over 20 inches long.
Oh, and a friend of ours from church took some pictures of Abi… here are a few of our favorites. We also have some pictures that our friend Kim took but they are not edited yet… we will post them when they are ready!
