Abionah does not like having her diapers changed! She will scream and fuss the entire time while kicking her legs all around. I can’t really blame her, after all, who enjoys the feel of something cold and wet rubbing across their bottom. Yet as uncomfortable as it may be, having her diaper changed is necessity. Not only is it a necessity, it is also what is best for her.
This afternoon, while Jon was changing Abi’s diaper, I heard him tell her “I hear your screams, but I am going to make you clean anyway because I love you.” Wow! What a profound statement. Sure, Jon was simply talking with our little girl and trying to calm her down yet is this same statement not true with us and our Father. How often do we fight our Father when what He is doing is really best for us, when His actions are simply part of the process of making us clean?
